From Theaterplein to Antwerp sky
More than one hundred participants from seven European countries, one completely new skate park (1000 m2) and one new location in the heart of Antwerpen. All these improvements and, of course, the amazing tricks of the skaters have made of this edition of Antwerp Skate Contest the best ever!

How are Dutch lessons? Prima!
When you move to Belgium, you need to learn words like “frietjes” or “regen” by hard, and expressions such as “een pintje, alstublieft”! But that’s all you need to know to survive here, because for your everyday communication you can manage with your English without problems. From the oldest grandfather down the youngest teenager (even some little children!), everybody speaks English properly and French of course, or even German and Spanish!

Hot Spanish EVS-ladies in the cold Belgian sea
The EVS-girls found a new destination for the sunny Saturday. We travelled two hours and reached Knokke, the most North-Eastern sea-side resort of the Belgian coast. It lies close to the Dutch border and is separated from the Dutch territory by the 'Zwin', a beautiful and extremely interesting natural reserve.

Bolleke party, the taste of Antwerp
The 5th edition of the Bollekesfeest, organized by the City of Antwerp and brewery De Coninck, took place last weekend from Thursday to Sunday (18-20th August) in Zuiderdokken, the South of Antwerp. In total 120.000 people, according the newspaper Niewsblad.be, enjoyed during four days drinking, eating and also dancing with the performances in the main stage.

The first real holiday at home
Sometimes you are blind for all the things there are in your country because you see them so much. The delicious Hungarian foods, like the Hungarian làngos or the kürtőskalács, the fresh fruits from the garden and the good wines. But after two months you begin to feel you miss something when being abroad! This was my first holiday at home, when I really could enjoy and appreciate my country’s beautiful tastes.

The best Belgian music in Linkerwoofer
What can you do if you had to spend one weekend in the city in August? Don’t be sad, you have reasons to celebrate it! Because you can enjoy the best music made in Belgium for free! That’s what thousands of people did last weekend (12th and 13th August) in Antwerp, because it took place Linkerwoofer, the biggest free festival of the city.

Sleep Inn Rivierenhof, Deurne
Last Friday, 12th of August, nine kids from 12 to 15 years old spent one funny and unforgettable night sleeping in the open air theatre Rivierenhof, in Deurne. The initiative, inside the activities for Antwerp European Youth Capital, started in March and shows the secrets of several cultural institutions during the night, every month.

Diamonds, a youngster's best friends
The Diamond Museum of Antwerpen opens its doors every summer and welcomes all the youngsters interested in art, communication or who want to know a bit more about that amazing stone. This year, they have organized some workshops about sound, graphic design and monuments to built up one new exhibition. You can visit it from 18h August.

Nicolaas Rockox, can I kiss you?
The creativity has no limits and each Thursday night in the Museum is better than the previous one. Last 28th of July Rockoxhuis surprised to the public with a funny performance with Nicolaas Rockox as a participant.
